Scientific skills
The success of LABEX MANUTECH-SISE is based on pooling of the skills and know-how of all LABEX's public and private partners of LABEX :
Surface Phenomena
Tribology
- Contact mechanics
- Friction, wear & lubrication
- High temperature oxidation
- Hydrogen embrittlement
- Wettability
- Surface energy
Surface Functionalization
Surface texturing
- Laser processes
- Mechanical processes
- Photo-organization & nanoparticles
- PVD, PECVD & PLD
- Sol-gel
- Ink & metal jet
- Powder based technologies
Interface & Material Assembly
Interface behaviour
- Experimental modeling
- Computer modeling
- Simulation of multiphysics processes
- Bonding, brazing, sintering, welding
Top-down Surface Analysis
Surface topography & imaging
- Multi-scale topography analysis
- Imaging for surface & process analysis
- Chemical analysis (XPS, AES…)
- Crystallography & Stress Analysis (FIB, XRD, EBSD...)
- Mechanical characterization
Based on these scientific skills, LABEX MANUTECH-SISE is organized along 4 scientific axes. Each axis is coordinated by two facilitators. All the animators are part of the Scientific Committee of LABEX.
Each axis is independant in its scientific activities :
The name given to an axis is intentionally atypical. It reflects the desire to combine scientific skills for any project approved and financed by LABEX.

- development and proposal of projects to be labeled,
- establishing axis offices to ensure the representativeness of all the partners concerned.
